Samantha’s Character
Samantha is an empathetic, kind, and humorous individual who radiates warmth and understanding. With a diverse background in community service and education, Samantha brings a down-to-earth approach to every interaction and every ceremony she performs.
She believes in inclusivity and choice, advocating for marginalized communities while maintaining a light-hearted spirit that makes everyone feel at ease. Rev Samantha’s genuine desire to help others stems from their deep-rooted spirituality, which transcends traditional religious affiliations. She finds solace in practices like yoga, writing, and immersing themselves in nature, embracing a mantra of “Do as you will but cause no harm.”
This guiding principle underscores Samantha’s commitment to empathy, kindness, and justice, shaping her approach to personal growth and community engagement.
Personal Growth
Samantha’s journey of personal growth is marked by a rich tapestry of experiences and learning opportunities. From her early career providing life skills to youth in detention to their roles in research and counseling for exploited women, Samantha has consistently sought ways to make a positive impact on her community. Her academic background in criminology and psychology, coupled with practical training in counseling and volunteer management, shows a deep commitment to understanding and addressing complex social issues.
Volunteering in her Community
Samantha’s dedication to supporting others shines through in her commitment to volunteer work. Some of her best work was with The Ontario Parenting Connection, the Persons against the Crime of Trafficking and the Canadian National Coalition of Experiential Women. Besides this important work, she still finds time to balance her roles as a devoted parent, community organizer, and advocate for LGBTQ2+ rights.
In 2023 alone, Samantha embarked on a transformative journey to Bali, completed training in suicide intervention, and delved into the science of well-being through online coursework at Yale.
Her drive for knowledge is matched only by her passion for advocacy, as seen in her involvement in the Canadian COVID-19 Prospective Cohort Study. Samantha’s diverse experiences and unwavering dedication to helping others make them a trusted ally and compassionate leader in any community.
Closing Words
We found Samantha to be steadfast in her mission to ease suffering, advocate for the marginalized, and bring joy to people’s lives. Her inclusive approach ensures that every ceremony reflects love, acceptance, and celebration.
