A bit about Rev Tamara Hisko

Rev Tamara grew up in the small town of Renfrew and had big dreams for her life ahead. She obtained her Bachelor of Law (LLB), University of Ottawa May 2008, and was called to the Bar of her Majesty’s Courts in Ontario in January 2009. She also has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Carleton University 1989.

After a successful law career, she retired in 2021 and spent her time as the primary care giver for her mother-in-law whom she would visit weekly in her retirement home. Tamara recognized she enjoyed working with seniors, and this led her to making enquires into how she could continue to share time with others who might benefit from her visits.

Through prayer, travel and personal growth in the years to follow, it was the preparation of her daughter’s wedding which rekindled the idea of officially serving others through Outreach Ministry. Conducting the Rites of Passage was to become her way of giving back.

Tamara’s ease at public speaking, her inclusivity and friendly caring demeanor along with her uncanny ability to listen to the wishes of others, are skills that have made her into the wonderful wedding minister she is today.

Closing words from Rev Tamara

“I feel blessed to be able to marry individuals and provide them with the rite of passage which celebrates their personal union, regardless of faith.”
