Credentials
The Clergy Support Memorial Church Board was in full agreement in certifying the Rev Sheri-Lee Latta to the Office of Appointed Designated Minister on November 14, 2024, with her ministry focus on Youth Counselling. Rev Latta’s spiritual and supportive personality with children is welcomed in many organizations in her community that serve youth. She also brings other people skills to the table and is excited to provide pastoral services in hospice care with our support.
A bit about Rev Sheri
Rev Sheri has been a widow since 2014 and has five adult children. She has had to learn and practice gratitude and now feels truly grateful for the abundance in her life.
She loves to learn and share what she’s learned, is an avid reader and also enjoys spiritual reading. She resonates with the message of love in the “Course in Miracles” literature. Sheri is a member of their online group called, “A Course in Miracle Support”.
She has a compassionate heart and wants to provide Spiritual Guidance in Hospice settings.
Joining Clergy Support allowed her to expand her ministry focus to include religious or spiritual Life Celebrations such as Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals. Since obtaining her credentials, she has helped to guide couples and families through some of the most unforgettable and spiritually significant ceremonies.
Sheri’s Community and Guidance Work
Her humble beginnings started with volunteering with the “Girls Inc.” (was Big Sisters) in 1993. She went on to become a Block Parent and the rest is history.
Her approach to not judge people, to listen and give everyone a second chance, helps her with her guidance work. Her focus has been on youth who struggle with their mental health relating to autism, ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, bipolar and boarder line personality disorders to name some of the ‘isms” as she calls them. She supports women and children who come from an unstable home environment or kids who feel overwhelmed and are looking for direction as they are growing up. She has a natural tendency to make everyone feel safe and gives them a safe space in which to share.
Her faith in God keeps her grounded and with his support knows there is NOTHING she can’t do.
Sheri’s closing words
“I’m a firm believer that our goal is to be the best version of ourselves as we can be.”
