The Clergy Support Memorial Church Credential Board was in full agreement to appoint Rev. Mark Halladay to the office of Designated Minister- Self Care Ministry on December 3, 2024. With a lifetime of dedication to service, Mark has spent over three decades in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) field. His experience coordinating life-saving efforts and leading emergency response teams has shaped his deep sense of responsibility, empathy, and ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.

Beyond his professional life, Mark is an integral member of his local faith community. He has been actively involved with St. John the Apostle Parish in Kingston, where he serves as an altar server, liturgy reader, and eucharistic minister. His commitment to spiritual service is also reflected in his work as the Chair of the Robertson Cemetery Board in Delta, Ontario, where he leads the effort to maintain and enhance a place of remembrance for the community. Through his volunteer work, Mark has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to fostering a sense of connection and community spirit.

Mark’s journey has been marked by a strong personal dedication to continuous learning and growth, both spiritually and professionally. His faith has been an essential pillar throughout his life. A lifelong learner, Mark frequently engages with spiritual podcasts such as “Formed” to deepen his faith.

Having dedicated over 30 years to Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Mark has witnessed the importance of compassion and service firsthand. In his role as an educator and medical trainer, he has mentored paramedics, firefighters, and first responders, emphasizing the power of knowledge in saving lives. Mark’s belief in the importance of helping others is evident in his extensive history of volunteering, from offering free medical training courses to serving in his local church.

Beyond his professional life, Mark has always demonstrated a calling to caregiving. He has provided hands-on support for sick family members. His empathy, patience, and desire to help others are qualities which make him well suited to help guide you through the milestones of life.
