The Clergy Support Memorial Church board was in full agreement to appoint the Rev. Lissa Joanis to the office of Designated Minister- Emotional Support Ministry in July of 2024. She obtained her Canadian Minister’s Institute Certificate for Wedding ceremonies and was subsequently registered with the Province of Ontario in September 2024. Lissa embodies the compassionate spirit of someone who truly understands the sacred nature of love and partnership. Her decades of experience empowering people and her deep commitment to community service make her an exceptional asset to the church.

She has raised funds for groups like Beyond 21, supported immigrant families, contributed to the local hospital, and assisted women’s shelters. Her compassionate nature extends beyond formal charity work, as she and her husband have even unofficially “adopted” elderly individuals to provide support and companionship.
