Credentials

The Clergy Support Memorial Church Board was in full agreement in certifying the Rev Erin Finn to the Office of Appointed Designated Minister – Life Celebrations and Pastoral Care, on February 27, 2023. Rev Erin completed her Canadian Ministers Institute training on June 12, 2023.

Erin has passion for ‘paying it forward’ and this is demonstrated in her volunteer work and the constant improvements she makes in her life as well in the lives of others. We are happy to support her and encourage her engagement in her community in the Kingston area.

Her Spiritual Side

Erin was raised Catholic, attending Catholic schools and raised by Irish Catholic parents. She quickly learned that you could feel God’s presence outside of the typical four church walls. Erin finds solace in prayer on her own time and in her own places. She also respects that faith is the feeling of the beholder and can be expressed in many forms and ways. 

Community service

She follows the philosophy that ‘giving is much more rewarding than receiving’. The power of kindness is a gift we all possess. Being present, spending time and supporting people in the here and now, is one of the most important gifts you can give.

Her accolades include receiving recognition from the National Philanthropy Awards – Eastern Ontario Office three years in a row. Some though not all of her volunteer work include: Committee work to establish a Residential Hospice, raising funds for the Children’s Cancer Fund for the Kingston General Hospital, coaching high school girls basketball, Leadership and Career speaking engagements for local high schools, and Easter and Christmas functions requiring her skills in fund raising, planning and recruiting volunteers.    

Hobbies

Golf is a pastime Rev Erin thoroughly enjoys with friends and colleagues. It’s a sport that allows her to step away from the daily grind and get some exercise, fresh air and relax.

Traveling is another one of her favourite pastimes. It appeals to her need to explore and learn about life, becoming immersed in different cultures and the planet.
