Credentials

Rev Nancy Knapp has been an Appointed Designated Minister serving the church as a registered wedding minister since August 2016. She has been growing her ceremonial duties and recently completed her training as a baptism and funeral minister. We have no doubt she will bring to her community the same attitude and diligence we have known since she’s been with us. Now after seven years of ministry with the church our Board has decided that the quality of her life experiences and ministry service is deserving of being moved to the rank of Ordained Minister.

Pastoral Work

Nancy spent a number of years as a volunteer with NGOs Students Crossing Borders, Dignitas Project, Adventure Learning Experiences, and Free the Children. As a result of her volunteer work, she’s been to the slums of Jamaica, Kenya, India and Ecuador with her students and other adults focusing on leadership skills, school building, including working in the classroom and clinical settings during these opportunities.

In 2007, she received the YMCA Peace Medallion for her social justice work both locally and globally.

She has also volunteered as a mentor for recovering drug addicts and alcoholics, has given her time at a free clothing store for those in need, and campaigned for the Heart and Stroke Institute.

Nancy currently applies her outgoing nature to couples and families who are un-churched and want the services of legal licenced minister to conduct their marriage, baptism or funeral ceremony. These services to her community which she so enjoys is shared with supporting the ‘Grandmothers to Grandmothers’ campaign through the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
