Worship

As woman of faith, Rev Anita starts her day with a morning devotional. She believes it is important to live with the Lord’s guidance on a daily basis. In addition, she regularly attends the Redeemer Christian Church of God where she continues to practice her spiritual growth.

Pastoral Activities

Rev Anita laughs about the fact she has a huge family and has already experienced over fifty family weddings. Part of her family lives in Texas, where she was recently visiting for four months to help with the birth of two babies. She enjoys performing all Life Celebrations, especially participating in the different marriage traditions for different cultures.

Rev Anita’s background and experience come from working in the Social Services sector and she is currently employed at the Oxford Learning as an Education/Coordinator tutoring children.

Her faith and passion for helping people guide her to support numerous youth activities. Some important activities she contributes to include: collecting food for the homeless, listening and empowering other youth to make their own decisions on how to deal with conflicts like bullying and work-related problems, as well as therapeutic counselling to youth within the care system.

Hobbies

Anita loves learning new skills or simply doing something new. For example, last year she learned ‘fly’ yoga. What’s that you say? It’s the latest spin on traditional yoga poses using a hammock of stretchy fabric to twist, fly and hang upside down. She has also recently learned how to make wax food and Japanese Origami. Anita also enjoys baking and has found a new love for making corn bread, cupcakes and cookies.
